Maurice Kirya Announces New Album

Ugandan soul singer Maurice Kirya has announced a new album set to drop September. The album titled ‘Beyond Myself’ is scheduled for release September 20th and will be the artist’s 5th full project following 2017’s release ‘Free Dreams’. The singer revealed the artwork for the album on social media, and later announced that he will be dropping a new single “Gimme Light” this week.

Credited as Uganda’s King of soul, Kirya who’s also an actor and entrepreneur is known to craft exemplary music with a touch of class and discipline those who posses a hint of the Ugandan artist would agree that his art has left a mark that would align him with some of the prolific artists of the decade. Going by his past releases, Kirya’s latest body of work is poised to be nothing but classic.

According to literature on the artists website, the compilation reflects the artists dark and most vulnerable moments; the themes also stretch to politics. The album features tunes such as ‘To Love You’, ‘Little Doll’ inspired by and events around the birth of his daughter. The singer teased the ‘Gimme Light’ video to his fans on social media.

The album has been produced by the artist himself together with JR Bishop, Baru & Samuel Bisaso, he has also featured Wies Knipping on the guitar and Roy Kasika on drums.
