Tanzanian Star Ali Kiba signs mega deal with Sony Music

Tanzanian singer Ali Kiba has signed a major deal with Sony Music Entertainment making him the second African artist and the first East African musician to sign a global deal with the music enterprise.

African popular music has generated a lot of buzz in the World music circles in recent years attracting major record labels which want to tap into the African market. Nigerian afro-beat singer Davido was the first artist to sign a similar deal with the entity.

The historic announcement was made in South Africa at Sony’s sub-Saharan headquarters. 

Ali Kiba is one of the top musicians on the African continent with an impressive discography and commands a huge following within and without his home country.


Ali Kiba is the man behind successful hits such as: ‘Chekecha Checketua’, ‘Lupela’, and ‘Mwana’.

The artist is expected to release his next album later this year under Sony Music label. His latest piece titled ‘Aje’ was released under Sony Music and the crooner took the opportunity to announce its release.

An excited Ali Kiba said he is looking forward to a fruitful partnership with the giant music label and will still be working together with his management team Rockstar4000 toward greater achievements.
