Rapsody is an artist that most of us have witnessed thrive, from around 2010 ‘Return of the B-Girl’ mixtape and her 2012 debut album ‘The Idea Of Beautiful’, she came into the fore under super-producer 9th wonder tutelage. ‘Crown’ tackles a lot of issues in thought provoking lyrics, from the rapper’s personal perspective, achievements, dreams, politics to the more central issues for most Americans like; race and police shootings targeting blacks. The EP samples sounds from the likes of Public Enemy with a tinged soul embrace bringing life to the whole concept.
