Maurice Kirya Serves A Taste Of His New Album ‘Beyond Myself’ With 3 Awesome Tracks

In the past less than 24 hours Ugandan soul singer Maurice Kirya has served us three singles off his recently released definitive album ‘Beyond Myself’. The three songs have been pulled off the 10-track project which feature lustful, eventful, love-filled compositions together with a stretch to politics.

The project has been in the kitchen for some time now, about a year, and is poised to redefine the crooner’s artistic expressions. The album in essence sees a rather different phase of the artist, integrating varied sounds, experiences, and a twist of his familiar sounds together with desired pop accents into a single project with a whole new concept in mind.

‘To Love You’

This track is a charged cantata with active pop shots expressions of undying love, the song is a bounces off spiritual intentions as the singer celebrates love with vibrant instrumentals from soul to folk to country tied with electronic-music supplements.

‘Munonde’

This is a snapping soulful track, the song trades on the familiar stretches of Maurice Kirya’s compositions, then strikes a lite funk infused pose as it fades with fascinating detail on his home country’s politics, the potent song whose title translates to ‘Vote For Me’ is self-explanatory as he puts it but wisely crafted in tone and delivery.

‘So Cold’

This is a spot on soul ballad, supported by nimble guitar plucks and the singer’s beatific vocals give life to the low tempo instrumental paces. Kirya sings from the standpoint of a man deserted by his lover; now in the cold but still in love with her, ‘So Cold’ is lyrically stunning and musically awesome!

With this taste of the album, you’ve got to cop the project and enjoy some fine stuff.
