A collaboration featuring Kenyan top boy band Sauti Sol and Congolese rhumba superstar Fally Ipupa is in the works.

The top African artists will be working together on new music for the upcoming season of Coke Studio Africa.

The new track will be produced by Nigeria’s famed producer Masterkraft whose works have been sought out for yet another collaboration for the music show featuring Ghana’s soul singer Efya and Uganda’s entertainer Eddy Kenzo.

“We are proud to work with Fally Ipupa. This is a statement to our Live and Die in Afrika motto and theme – the best of entertainment and music can also be made right here in Africa,” Sauti Sol said “This will be the best music collaboration on the show this year – wait and see!”

Sauti Sol is one of the top African Afro pop bands and winners of the 2014 MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act. The youthful band has just concluded a successful Kenyan tour dubbed Live and Die in Africa Tour (2016).

Fally Ipupa is representing DRC, one of the six new countries added onto the fourth season of Coke Studio Africa, set to premiere later this year. The rest include Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast.

The Congolese entertainer popularly known as just ‘Fally’ shot to fame after taking on a solo career which followed a stint with rhumba maestro Koffi Olomide’s band Quartier Latin International. The singer, dancer, philanthropist, guitarist and fashion icon’s debut album “Droit Chemin” sold over 100,000 copies in the first two weeks. He is widely known for fusing various genres of music including hip hop and rnb with rhumba tunes.

The new season of one of Africa’s most exciting show promises to be a thriller judging from the number of acts lined up for the show which aims to unite African music fans and artists. To add more flavor onto it, Sauti Sol and Fally Ipupa will also be working with Nigeria’s Simi.

Coke Studio Africa is a non-competitive show which showcases diversity of African musical talent and gives upcoming artists an opportunity to work with the best local and international music makers from all genres.

Mpho Pholo a renowned record producer, pianist and composer will be directing all artists on the show.
