Funking Soul: Kenyans Didge and Blinky Bill new single Mchezo Mchezo

Kenya’s legendary urban soul/r&b singer Didge is back with a new single “Mchezo Mchezo” which features the multi-talented singer and producer Blinky Bill.

The track is a grown-folk funky love tune which speaks about the games in relationships. The song sees the artists declare their affections and how serious their intentions are, on a well crafted beat with incredible drums. The message…No more games. Mchezo is a Swahili word which translates to sport or game in English.

Didge, born Max Nyatome, has been known to keep away from the hype in the Kenyan music industry hype choosing instead to let his music speak for itself’. The man behind the critically acclaimed Vintage Swahili album popularly known for his classic releases such as “Saa Zingine”, “Kipusa” featuring rap act Collo and “Kita Ngoma”

“Mchezo Mchezo” was produced by Blinky, described by papermag.com as Kenyan electro-funk rocker, who is also a member of the internationally renowned group Just A Band. The popular band has been around since 2008 but the group announced that they would be taking a break to focus on individual projects.

According to the group’s website Blinky Bill, born Bill Sellanga, will be releasing his solo album later this year (2016) tentatively titled “Everyone’s Just Winging It & Other Fly Tales”.
