Featured: Kenyan artist Xpect’s Afro-electronic premier EP “Nomadic Soul” is finally here

The long awaited Afro-Electronic EP is the DJ and Producer’s premier album and was released on the same date as American singer Alicia Keys remixes EP in which he was enlisted to work on the singer’s “In Common” single.

The album, according to the artist, is a mood voyage he plucks bits and beats from his 16-year-long musical experience, his signature sound is somewhere between electronic music and a heavy load of percussions which makes it more African than the next sound you’ll listen to.

The New York based DJ has been working on several remixes among them Desiinger’s “Panda” hits song and also remixed his version of Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up”

Xpect has elicited interest from various quarters resulting in being among the few African DJs to play on US urban radio with a live set, some work with legendary Hip Hop heads such as KRS One and Questlove from the Roots crew. He has also showcased his talent at the SXSW Festival in Austin 2016 by Digiwaxx.

The Harvard University Extension School student’s “Nomadic Soul” compilation is an EP that speaks more to his persona and experiences, the calm demeanor from a number of tracks project a lot of mystery about Xpect’s state of mind as he was working on the tracks. One can tell the imaginative nature of the artist and the futuristic sounds.  According to the artist, the album was inspired by the different cultures and people of Kenya.
