Well it’s been a while since I heard the American Hip Hop group Arrested Development do their thing, I grew up listen to their music and the sound of Speech on this new project got me thinking about their previous records…

..I should just get their music and blast it loud all weekend. I think I will.

The new album titled “Changing The Narrative” still has the group on that knowledge and truth curve. Speech’s lyrics are relevant, current and tackle issues around race, violence, the people and the kind of brainwashing we fall victim to.

Actually I think the older Speech sounds better!

From the issue of the Oscars and race, to revolution, business, music industry, street violence or gun violence. Speech addresses most of these challenges through his captivating lyrics. The group is all about uplifting the people. Devoted to the People is one of the tracks that reminds artistes-to be exact rappers-that music especially Hip Hop music is all about the people.

The album encompasses the positive vibe that is kind of rare in recent music though not strange to the group itself.

The funky album plays around; jazz, soul, rnb and rock n roll, and a taste of reggae. On the production side one would be forgiven to poke holes into the project but content-wise the album is wicked.

The latest AD project features: Omar Perry on “Unstoppable”, Tracy Cieara on the uplifting track “Get Up”, APrime is featured on “Right Direction”, “I knew It” on the other hand features Jahah and Elle Ranae is featured on the powerful track “Smile”.

I would recommend the album. Get it, play it loud and ensure the children are listening.
